Oppo A79 with Helio P23 and 18:9 Display is Launching on December 1st

Oppo will be launching the Oppo A79 in China on December 1st, a fairly midrange device judging by the specs. The Oppo A79 comes with a Helio P23, 4GB RAM, a 3000mAh battery, a fullview 18:9 6″ 1080p display and Oppo VOOC, which is what OnePlus's Dash Charge is based off of.Oppo A79

This device is set to launch at a 2,399 RMB, or $364 once converted. It will also have a fingerprint scanner on the back, and can use Face ID to allow the user to unlock the device, just like the OnePlus 5T. The device also comes with a headphone jack, so you can continue using your current earphones without any issue.

The Oppo A79 will be available for purchase from December 1st in China. The device will be made available in 3 colour variants: Blue, Black and Rose Gold; and are all visible on the pre-order link on OppoShop. The Helio P23 is clocked at 2.5GHz on an octa core Cortex-A53 setup and comes with a Mali G71 GPU clocked at 700MHz. There is only one storage option at 64GB, but the device also supports expandable storage and will allow a microSD card up to 128GB. Instead of using a MicroSD card, if you'd prefer then you can opt to use a second SIM card.

The camera on the back is 16MP with an f/1.8 aperture size and a 1.0μm pixel size. The front facing camera is a 16MP with an f/2.0 aperture and comes with various photo taking modes, such as beauty mode.

The device will be launching with Android 7.1.1, and with ColorOS 3.2. ColorOS 3.2 has some new features, including a new gaming mode which takes the 10 most popular mobile games and when one is detected to be running, prioritises them over other processing needs on the device.

If you're interested, the device should hopefully be launching in the western market in the coming months.
