Announcing the PC Hardware Forums on XDA-Developers

For those of you who have been following this PC Hardware journey from the beginning you've probably noticed that I post things in multiple locations, such as Medium. This was never intended to be a long term solution to the problem though. And so, after a lot of preparation work, we are happy to announce that we now have a new space available on the XDA-Developers forums to continue our PC Hardware discussions.

What does this mean? Once again, we're not trying to replace your go-to site for most of your PC hardware content. Our goal was to make a space that accomplishes the following:

  • Offer a place other than Disqus or social media to really carry on a conversation about the PC hardware topics, articles and (soon) videos on the subject.
  • Allow for room to discuss development topics that may be much more applicable here. As such you'll see a forum geared for this on Linux. We're reviewing the existing Windows forums now to see how we can bring them into this section as well. They're related enough that we want people to know these forums exist, but they're not quite entirely hardware related either.
  • Better utilize and discuss what XDA editors and community members are working on, to share insight and topics that may either not be ready for the Portal or do not neatly fit into an article, such as projects in a proof of concept phase or builds in progress.

At this point the new forums are largely an experiment to see if you, the readership, really want to discuss this on that platform. We are working with the forum team and will be reviewing the posts and threads to see if we need to adjust the current design. We're still adding threads for the stories that we have previously posted but those will also be available soon.

So what are you waiting for? Why not go check out the new forums today!
